The second of the podcasts I interviewed for just dropped today, and it’s really different from your usual podcast format. Chris Johnson‘s Passion Podcast is unique in a few ways. First, it’s not focused on one subject or theme, unless that theme is “people who do something they love and are passionate about”. He’s done several hundred episodes where he interviews musicians, athletes, comedians, artists, and other creative professionals about their journey in their careers and life. Over the last couple of months I was interviewed for two different podcasts, both of which are coincidentally being released at about the same time. One dropped yesterday, and is a quick 20 minute-ish talk with Jason DeHart on his “Words, Images, & Worlds” show: Unfortunately this one had got a lot of audio issues and the video is not very clear. I’ve got my first few workshops for 2026 arranged! I’ll be teaching in cities I’ve never been before… Nashville and Salt Lake City. I limit these classes to 12 students, so there is plenty of one-to-one instruction and feedback and you really get to know your fellow artists. The dynamics of an in-person workshop like this are so much more effective than your typical online class. Video lessons are fine but there is nothing like total immersion, and drawing alongside others. I’ll be spending two weeks in the Orlando area in November, so I scheduled a rather unique version of my workshop up in the Villages area of central Florida… a one-day workshop! This is a bit of an experiment to see how a shorter, more streamlined version of my usual two-day workshop will work.
