Caught Up from CLAPTRAP

January 16th, 2024 | Posted in News

In a few months this blog will see its 18th anniversary. In all that time I have never gone 15 days without a post here. In fact I’ve never gone a full week without a post here. That just happened. My last post was Jan 1st, and here it is Jan 16th.

In a partial defense on my part, a few years ago I switched my focus to my weekly newsletter “The Ink Stained Wretch” (which, incidentally, you should be subscribed to) so I only do two or three posts a week anyway, but over two weeks without a post is unprecedented. So, my apologies.

Anyway the reason for this is Desmond Devlin and my book CLAPTRAP finally landed on Jan 2nd, I have spent the last two weeks generating postage and labels and packing up and shipping copies both to fulfill all backer perks and website pre-orders. That work is now done as of today, and by that I mean just under 1000 copies are out the door, so we will return to our regularly scheduled programming.

Coming soon will be the return of Monday MADness, sketches of the week, more workshop announcements, and other random silliness.

Ok, Tom, apology is accepted, by me, anyway. With all the work you guys put in with CLAPTRAP, you deserve a few days break. Great Job! I think you’ve answered this before, but what was the origin of MAD using the bold wording in the bubble texts of parodies, as you also did?

  2. Melvin Cosnowski says:

CLAPTRAP was well worth the wait–with MAD essentially dead, props to you and Mr Devlin for keeping a bit of its spirit alive…
