It’s been a while since I posted one of these “On the Drawing Board” updates… above is a fun little spot illustration I did for Scholastic a couple of months ago. A lock of George Washington‘s hair was recently found and authenticated, and this illustrated the blurb about the discovery in one of their magazines. Actually I am on vacation (sort of, brought some work with me) in Florida right now but here’s what is on the drawing board currently: “Z People” Comic Book– Inking the last of this 47 page behemoth right now. Looking to be done by the end of the month. MAD– Just finished a two page feature for #547 (rare issue without a movie or TV parody for me) but already have the script for a TV show parody for issue #548 Corporate caricatures– I’ve got a new gig doing caricatures of executives/employees for a big tech company. I know I say I am busy a lot but I have to tell you I may never have had as much work due as quickly as it needs to be done on the board at one time as I have right now: GQ Magazine Illustration– Actually I put this to bed late last week, April Issue MAD Parody– a NINE PAGE movie parody for MAD #539. Thanks to sudden death in the family that took up a lot of my time in October I just spent the last two weeks digging myself out from under a pile of several freelance jobs, so actually the drawing board is a bit light at the moment.
