I’m FINALLY getting back to doing my traveling weekend workshops, after only doing a hand full since the pandemic started. I just added dates in Austin Tx, Chicago IL and Phoenix AZ, and have possible ones pending in Atlanta, Portland and Boston! If you’ve never attended one of my workshops here’s what they are all about. Reserve a spot soon, these usually sell out! READ MORE

In a few months this blog will see its 18th anniversary. In all that time I have never gone 15 days without a post here. In fact I’ve never gone a full week without a post here. That just happened. My last post was Jan 1st, and here it is Jan 16th. In a partial defense on my part, a few years ago I switched my focus to my weekly newsletter “The Ink Stained Wretch” (which, incidentally, you should be subscribed to) so I only do two or three posts a week anyway, but over two weeks without a post is unprecedented. So, my apologies.… READ MORE

Welcome to 2024! We are definitely starting the New Year out right by FINALLY reaching the end of a three year journey. Tomorrow morning I am renting a truck and going to a local loading dock where the bulk shipment of fellow MAD man Desmond Devlin and my hardcover book of movie parodies CLAPTRAP is being delivered. Frustratingly, it took our printer 15 weeks to get these books to us, but they are finally arriving and shipping will begin tomorrow. Des is flying into Minnesota later in the week and we’ll be doing the signed copies then, but all orders should be on the way… READ MORE

I’ve started planning workshops for 2024, and I have two I have lined up so far. I have also booked a workshop in a location I have not been before, Houston Texas! That one is taking place March 9-10th. You can see all the details here. There will be more coming in 2024! CLAPTRAP, extensive travel, and other obligations conquered! Infrequent and shaky blog and social media interaction over! I’m back and in full swing in the studio, so look for the resumption of “Monday MADness”, “Sketch o’the Week” and other nonsense here and elsewhere on the interwebs. I’m sure this is of enormous relief to my six regular readers. Lots of news and fun things to come soon and especially in 2024. If you have not already subscribed, sign up for my FREE weekly newsletter The Ink Stained Wretch! READ MORE

Whew! New York Comic Con was intense, hectic and a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone who stopped by my table and for all of those who got a Virtual commission here. I’ve got a pile of them to do but will be getting on them right away because I DON’T HAVE ANY WORK TO DO ON CLAPTRAP ANYMORE! That said I really do have a lot of commissions to do. It will take some time, but everyone will get their art in the next week or two. I’ll do another of these virtual events to coinside with my next major comic con appearance, which… READ MORE

The Comics Journal published a story about Desmond Devlin any my upcoming book of movie parodies, CLAPTRAP, the other day. The article featured a look at one of the pages of extra material from the book… this one page “Godfather” gag. CLAPTRAP is a 124 page hardcover book featuring twelve movie parodies and lots of extra stuff like this one pager! The printing process has begun! The book will be here soon! READ MORE
