It’s workshop time again! My workshop in Seengen, Switzerland starts today through the weekend! I’m happy to say this one sets a record, BY FAR, for the most female participants… 11 out of 16 (one not pictured)!! I don’t know why I get so disproportionately few female students. I have another in London next week. I’m still looking in to 2019 locations, but right now all my other workshops are sold out except the one in February in Las Vegas. It’s been a seriously crazy summer. I just finished a couple of sudden, short deadline jobs (including two illustrations for a major motion picture that will remain nameless) while working around several comic cons and workshops, plus family drama. The above image is a cover I did for a publication dedicated to high school competition trap shooting that just got released. I’ve been doing spot illustrations for them for years. Superstar comic book artist and fellow National Cartoonist Society member Graham Nolan invited me to contribute a full page piece of pin-up art for his Kickstarter project, which features two books: Graham Nolan’s MONSTER ISLAND 20th Anniversary Creator Edition and Black Book: the Art of GRAHAM NOLAN! Both books look to be fantastic, which is not surprising considering Graham is one the THE best in the business. San Diego Comic Con was its usual totally insane, overcrowded, smelly, frustrating bunch of awesomeness. I was kept incredibly busy doing various commissions from “live caricature” style drawings to more elaborate cover sketches and other fun stuff. The one above was one of my favorites from the week. Typically I got to spend far less time than I would have liked to with lots of people there. That’s the frustrating part. Well, that and people stopping in the middle of a shoulder-to-shoulder crowded walkway to get their 10th picture of a cosplay Deadpool of the day. It was a big MAD day at SDCC yesterday with the New MAD Panel and a signing at the DC Comics booth. Catwoman week concludes with the most recent portrayal of (a young) Selena Kyle, Camren Bicodova from the TV show Gotham. I debated including her in the group as my usual criteria for these prints is an actor/actress must appear in a TV show or movie officially as the character, in costume. I left out the two Superboys from my “Men of Steel” print for that reason, and the kid Bruce Wayne from “Gotham” from my “Bats in the Belfry” print. However Camren arguably is the character already as she is a thief, is in a costume of sorts, and jumps off buildings, etc. Anyway I… READ MORE

It might be Monday but it’s still “Catwoman Week”! Today’s Catwoman is Anne Hathaway, who played Gotham’s most notorious cat burglar in 2012’s “The Dark Knight Rises”.
