My workshop in NYC is sold out, so if you were procrastinating on pulling the trigger you are out of luck! Earlier this year one of the stars of CBS’s “Ghosts”, Richie Moriarty, commissioned me to do an illustration of the cast for him to give prints to as a end-of-the-season gift. He asked me not to share the art online until after the season finale because most of the characters here are doing things that are part of the latest season’s storylines, and he didn’t want any spoilers revealed. I’m headed to the Highlands (well, actually the Central Lowlands but it’s more fun to say “Highlands”) of bonnie auld Scotland to do a workshop this fall! I don’t do many comic cons, mostly because I can’t afford to spend more time away from the studio than I already do. That said there are three I do every year that I would not want to miss, San Diego Comic Con, New York Comic Con, and C2E2. The latter one is taking place this weekend at its usual venue at McCormick Place in Chicago. It’s been a little over a year since CLAPTRAP was released, and I have officially healed from the trauma of doing that much work for one project. The many late nights and countless hours on the drawing board makes it a little hard to want to part with the tangible results of all that work. It’s the same with most any big jobs for me. For a while after I finish a major project I like to have that work in the flat files just as a reminder that I did accomplish something with all the effort.
