Glenn Ferguson Update

February 2nd, 2016 | Posted in News

I’ve been asked quite frequently about how my friend and fellow caricature artist Glenn Ferguson is doing with his recovery. In case you missed the story, Glenn is an award winning caricaturist and a leading artist at the caricature art concession in Universal Studios, Florida. On Jan 1st a disgruntled co-worker whose contract had been terminated the day before came back to Universal Studios property and attacked Glenn with a pair of scissors. Glenn suffered serious brain damage from the attack, and his immediate survival was in doubt. Thankfully, after over 5 hours of surgery, Glenn survived and began a long, arduous road to recovery.… READ MORE

Picture courtesty of Celestia Ward Yesterday’s “Glenn-efit” event at the Downtown Crown Pub in Las Vegas was a big success, raising over $1500 to benefit our good friends Glenn and JoAnn Ferguson as they begin the long road to Glenn’s recovery and rehabilitation from his injuries. I drew alongside some terrific local Las Vegas caricaturists like Doug Citizen, Andrew Taylor, Robert Sundini, and I think a few others jumped in and did a couple of drawings as well. There was also a raffle with prizes ranging from donated spa products to massages to Penn and Teller tickets to signed books, prints and originals artwork. Also… READ MORE

Thoughts for Glenn

Those of you who are also my Facebook friend will probably already be familiar with this, please forgive the repetition if that is the case. On New Year’s Day my longtime friend, fellow caricaturist, ISCA member and illustrator Glenn Ferguson was attacked at the caricature concession stand he works at in Universal Islands of Adventure in Orlando by a disgruntled former co-worker, and seriously injured by multiple stab wounds which caused neck, cranium and brain damage. Glenn underwent 5 hours of emergency surgery that day, and thankfully pulled through. However the extent of the injury to his brain will not be known until he regains… READ MORE

August 22nd, 2019 | Posted in News

Followers of my blog know I do not often promote crowdfunding campaigns, but every once and awhile something comes along that ticks all the boxes, and that I know will be followed through. This is one of them. “American Caricature” is a documentary film that explores the world of making a living drawing caricatures. That includes the various industries involved like illustration, animation, and especially “live” caricature (i.e. the world of fairs, theme parks, private events, and tradeshows), the caricature community, and the International Society of Caricature Artists big convention/competition. I’m one of many professional caricaturists interviewed for the documentary. The world of caricatures is… READ MORE
