On Jan 1, 2016 a long-time friend and fellow caricaturist, Glenn Ferguson, was brutally attacked and stabbed in the head by a co-worker named Fredrick Torres. He suffered permanent damage after 3 inches of a pair of scissors pierced and lodged in his brain. After 20 months of legal weaseling, Torres finally went on trial yesterday. Here’s a couple of new stories. Glenn struggles daily with PTSD, impairment due to brain damage which affects his speech, eyesight, cognitive skills, and, most sadly, his ability to draw… something he is very talented at and which he loved to do for his living, and has been taken from him.

My thoughts are with Glenn and his amazing wife JoAnn as they struggle through reliving that horrible event all those months ago during this trial, and I sincerely hope the courts lock Torres away for a long, long time. Maybe then they can out this behind him and do their best to move forward.

Thank you for this update, Tom. While having never met him personally, I have greatly admired Glenn’s work for some time and quietly followed this story from a distance. I sincerely hope his attacker is punished to the fullest extent of the law.
