What, Me Podcast?

This is going to be a very audio-centric week for me as I will be a guest on not one but TWO podcasts! Tomorrow I am recording my guest spot on Jason Seiler‘s “Face The Truth” podcast, and that will air either later tomorrow or Friday. But first I am the guest on Mark Arnold‘s “Fun Ideas Podcast“, which was recorded some time ago and just got posted last night.

Like I said, this podcast was recorded some time ago, back in early March. It’s a little painful to listen to because we talk a lot about Mort Drucker and and all I can think about is how I had no idea that just a few weeks later he’d be gone. At one point I say “I haven’t talked to him much lately”, and I think if only April 2020 Tom could reach back and slap March 2020 Tom and say “THEN GIVE HIM A CALL, ASSHOLE!” I would.

Another thing I mention in the interview is the movie parody book Desmond Devlin and I are working on to launch as a Kickstarter. I said we had an April 1 target date to launch it. Then all this Covid-19 stuff came down. The project is still going to happen but we just don’t know when. Not only are we concerned with money being so tight for so many we might not be able to get it funded within the 60 day window, but a lot of movies we thought we would probably spoof are not getting finished or not being released. We obviously abandoned the April 1 launch. I’ll post updates here when there are updates to post.

So, have a listen if you want. Mark has a very laid back but informative show here and a long list of really cool guests (I’m podcast #70) including some MAD UGOI like Bill Morrison and Kit Lively, and many terrific comics artists and writers. It’s worth subscribing to.
