Sunday Mailbag- Workshops?

Q: Are you planning to schedule any new caricature workshops soon?

A: No, I’m afraid not. Thanks to the pandemic I have had to completely cancel overseas workshops in Vienna and Dublin (June), and Sydney and Melbourne (Oct), and reschedule ones originally scheduled earlier this year in Chicago, MN, and New York. The only ones still on their original scheduled dates are the ones in Detroit (which I am conducting this weekend actually!) and next month in Indianapolis. As infection rates continue to fluctuate requirements and orders keep changing, so any of these workshops may end up not happening at the last second. Also many workshop students are cancelling due to concerns about the virus or because of the restrictions virus protocol is requiring.

Right now it is just too chaotic to try and schedule a workshop anywhere. I could set one up only to have to reschedule it or cancel it if there is an outbreak in that area, or travel from my state gets restricted, or the hotel closes, or whatever. Just too many unknowns. I’ll have to wait until the pandemic is winding down and some semblance of normalcy returns before I can start doing these again.

In the meantime I am working on a virus-free option! Hopefully early this fall I’ll have a big announcement!
