Sketch o’the Week: Legolas and Gimli!

It’s back to Middle Earth with another “Lord of the Rings” sketch… this week is a two for one! In the books and in the films Gimli the dwarf and Legolas the elf form an unlikely friendship as the two races are estranged and often at odds with each other in J.R.R. Tolkien’s world. The two characters also gave me an opportunity to contrast their looks in the caricature. Legolas is long and regal with a kind of ethereal beauty, while Gimli is wide, disheveled, and coarse. Orlando Bloom is Legolas and Jonathan Rhys-Davies is Gimli.
