Pop Goes the Culture Interview

August 1st, 2019 | Posted in General

David Levin‘s marvelous Pop Goes the Culture TV show has been doing a series of interviews with “The Usual Gang of Idiots” about the end of original content in the regular issues of the magazine. He must be reaching the bottom of the barrel because a new episode just got posted featuring me as a guest, recorded live from my studio in beautiful downtown Burnsville. Visit David’s YouTube Channel to see interviews with former MAD editors Joe Raiola and Charlie Kadau, and MAD artist Ray Alma, with more to come I am told. In fact, check out his other episodes of the show featuring an amazing plethora of recognizable stars of stage and screen!

I also need to point out that the credit that appears periodically under me during the show is incorrect. David spelled my name right, which is a step up from my usual interviews, but I should not be billed as a “Fmr. (i.e. ‘Former’) Mad Artist”. I’m a current MAD artist. In fact, I am working on two parodies for issue #10, due out in October. After that who knows? But right now I’m still a working member of “The Usual Gang of Idiots”.

This was an excellent interview. In many ways I thought it was better than most. David asked really good questions and you gave some great answers that included some thoughtful ideas and insights. Not a “puff piece” at all. Good stuff.
