Where in the World is Tom?
I’m out of town for the week, and thought we’d play a little game… just exactly where am I? More pictures to come. READ MORE
Bunk Blog
I’m pretty busy trying to get a bunch of stuff done prior to yet another (and the last one for the forseeable future) trip out of the country, but I thought I’d share a fun link today. MAD artist Tom Bunk just joined the blogosphere with a bright, shiny new blog that is well worth a look. Tom is a diversely talented illustrator, and the popping eyeballs and squirting entrails he often does for MAD are only a few of the things he draws and paints brilliantly. Of course he’s also well know for his work on Wacky Packages and the Garbage Pail Kids stickers… READ MORE
The Last of the 1993 Live Caricature Demos
This is it, the final segment of the demo video of some of my live caricature samples from the early 90’s. For those just tuning it, this was a time-lapse, looping demo of me doing a bunch of samples that played through a window in several of my indoor caricature stand locations. On Patrol is the magazine of the USO, and the Winter issue features coverage of the USO sponsored NCS cartoonist’s trip to Germany, Kuwait and Iraq back in October. The website linked above is not yet updated to include the winter issue’s content, but the magazine features a great cover by Michael Ramirez, some pictures of us in action (I mean drawing… not the kind of action the people we drew are used to) and an article that… READ MORE

Sherlock Holmes- A Review
No, that’s not Robert Downey Jr. lounging in the sitting room of 221b Baker St., it’s me (still in a sling from my rotator cuff surgery) in the famous room’s recreation at the Sherlock Holmes Museum in London. Of course, I look as much like the literary Holmes as Downey Jr. does… I mean, if director Guy Ritchie can cast a 5’7″ guy with a button nose and weak chin as Holmes, why not a 6′ 235 pound weightlifter cartoonist?? But enough of the snarky complaining. Being an avid Holmes fan and Sherlockian, I had every reason to dislike this film and Ritchie’s very loose… READ MORE
