Me and my booth babe The Lovely Anna Another SDCC in the books. Had a great time as always. Many thanks to all the people that came up to say hello and chat, and especially those who commissioned a caricature or sketch cover or bought some of my garbage. One of the highlights for me was once again being called up on stage to do a little drawing game during the “Quick Draw” show on Saturday. Host Mark Evanier has had me do that for a few years running and as humbling as it is to try and keep up with Sergio Aragonès and Scott… READ MORE

This was the very first segment I did some work on for the MAD show on Cartoon Network… “CSiCarly”: Original test designs. I started out too detailed and kept on getting more simplified. Could not find any of the other character designs I did. Not sure what happened to the files. Here’s the clip: READ MORE

I’m in San Diego setting up for Comic Con, which starts TONIGHT! I have no time or scanners available to do a SotW. So, here’s a sneak peek at a couple of the rough penciled pages for the 47 page story I’m pencilling and inking for the company Sitcomics. Z-People is a humorous story about zombies and a group of survivors trying to figure out what to do. I’m inking the last few pages right now and the comic will be out sometime soon. READ MORE

My final workshop of 2017, being conducted here in Minnesota Sept 15th-17th is SOLD OUT! However, if you are interested in attending please send us a note and we’ll add you to the waitlist. We almost always have a cancellation or two, so your chances of getting a spot are good… especially if you get on the waitlist early. If I get a cancellation I start with the first person on the waitlist and offer them the spot, then work my way down the list if they are unable to attend. It costs nothing to get on the waitlist and you have no obligation to… READ MORE

Q: Have you ever been sued or coerced to remove your caricature drawings from your books or blog because the subject did not like his/her drawing to be publicly displayed even if it was not a commissioned work? How did you deal with it? A: I’ve never been sued but once I (or rather one of the artists who was drawing at my booth at the Mall of America) was told by a celebrity to remove his caricature from the display at one of my booths. This happened a long time ago, so some of the details are a little hazy but basically he demanded… READ MORE
