That’s a wrap! The “funding” portion of Des and my crowdfunding campaign has ended, and our Indiegogo page has moved into the “Indemand” phase. This will last until the book ships next year. Indemand is basically just an online store where you can pre-order a copy of the book. Most of the previous perks that were available have now gone, having been available only during the “funding” part of the campaign, and helped us reach our initial goal and all the stretch goals. Today is the final day of our campaign, and Des and I have our over 600 awesome backers to thank for not just reaching our initial goal, but all our stretch goals! We are humbled and grateful for all the support, and we can’t wait to continue to work on the book and share our progress with backers and everyone as we go. Thanks to the incredible support of our backers, CLAPTRAP‘s 5th and final stretch goal just got unlocked! There will now be TWELVE FULL MOVIE PARODIES in the book, which if you include the six movie poster spoofs from our previous stretch goal and other surprises, will probably push the book close to or over 100 pages!! When Desmond and I announced the last two stretch goals for CLAPTRAP, we knew it was a really long shot we’d be able to make it to $64,000 by the end of the campaign. In fact, we figured it was impossible. We had a long way to go, not a lot of time to get there, and all the really big ticket perks were sold out. But “go big or go home” as they say. Here’s my take on Anya Taylor-Joy. What a face this gal has got. She has very obvious features to exaggerate with the eyes that seem twice as big as eyes are supposed to be, plus they are extremely far apart. However that’s only part of her unique look. She also has unique and sharp lips, a widish jaw but very high angles of her mandible bone, and a tiny little chin. Holy Veeblefetzer, Batfink! Our awesome backers just got us past the $60,000 mark on our CLAPTRAP book campaign in Indiegogo, unlocking our penultimate stretch goal. Des and I will now be adding six additional pages to the book, consisting of six movie poster parodies. That’s more laughs for the same price… cheap! One more stretch goal to go! We’ve only got FOUR MORE DAYS to go on Desmond Devlin and my Indiegogo campaign for CLAPTRAP, our book of MAD style movie parodies. Here’s another example of the kind of sketches I’m going to be doing in the book for those who contribute at the “Schmendrick” level and up (Yes, we’re doing a spoof of fan favorite and universally acclaimed (yet never spoofed in MAD) movie “Blade Runner”.)
