Back in 2008 I did a bunch of work on a superhero genre spoof film called “Supercapers” for director/writer/producer/actor Ray Griggs. In early 2009 he had me do a promotional comic book that was a sort of sequel/prequel (time travel story) to the movie that was given out at Wondercon and elsewhere. The 13 page comic was designed, drawn and colored by me, and mostly inked by my pal, comic book superstar Tom Nguyen, although I inked all the faces and two of the full pages. Here is the comic in it’s entirely. You may recognize some of the characters as they are caricatures of… READ MORE

New York Comic Con 2019 is in the books. This is the most exhausting of all the cons I do, but that’s a good thing. I draw non-stop all four days and have a hard time keeping up. I don’t even remember to take pictures of all the commissions and drawings I do. Here are just a couple I did remember to take pics of. Thanks to everyone who came out to say hello! Hope to see you next year! READ MORE

Q: I heard MAD is ending publication? A: The number one comment from this weekend at New York Comic Con. Here’s what is actually happening with MAD: Until recently, there were three ways for you to get the latest printed issue of MAD Magazine: on newsstands, in comic book stores, and in your maiulbox via subscription. Issue #9, which came out back in July, was the last issue of MAD Magazine to be carried on newsstands. Newsstand distribution of the magazine has ended. Next week MAD #10 will be released. You can get that issue only via subscription or in comic book shops. Issue #10… READ MORE

I’ve got a new workshop location just announced: beautiful downtown Burbank, California on January 11-12th, 2020! Grab your spot before it’s sold out! Yes, the New Orleans workshop has been cancelled. I only had a few people sign up and there was not much interest down there, so the Big Easy is a non starter. I’ve got a few other locations in the works for 2020 including for certain New York City, Chicago and Phoenix, and possibly Seattle, Boston, Vienna, Dublin and London. Stay tuned for more announcements soon. READ MORE

Deadlines conquered. Wrapping up a couple of odd jobs today and packing up for New York Comic Con. What’s new at NYCC at my booth this year? I’ll have my exclusive NYCC print, copies of “Don’t Let the Penguin Drive the Batmobile” , my “Tarantino Time Warp” MAD #9 cover print and this new ” “Tarantino TV Guide” mini print you see above. This is not the 11×14 full sized print I have here on the website, but a 6 x 8 inch “mini print”. The cool thing about this is that it’s about the same size as an actual old school TV Guide cover… READ MORE
