It’s been a while since I posted an update on my 2018 worldwide caricature workshop tour. Workshops in Los Angeles (x2), Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, New York City and Toronto are in the books already. Most of the rest of 2018 is sold out including Portland, Switzerland, and Los Angeles (again!), but I do have a few spots open in the following workshops: London, UK: Aug 14-16th: Some late cancellations have opened up a couple of spots on what has been a sold out workshop the last few months. I guess the word is out on this, so I can share it here. First there was Goodnight Batcave, then there was Superman and the Miserable, Rotten, No Fun, Really Bad Day. Now MAD continues it’s shameful desecration of everyone’s childhood memories with the third volume in their kid’s book parody series, Don’t Let the Penguin Drive the Batmobile! This art was for Nick’s “MAD Book” given to him at his retirement Nick Meglin was the only person I ever knew who I would look forward to being insulted by. The world got a little less funny and MAD Magazine lost a large part of its heart and soul yesterday with the sudden passing of Nick from a heart attack. He would have been 83 next month. If there was an official title of “Unsung Hero of MAD Magazine”, Nick would without question wear that crown. I’ll be one of around 80 cartoonists meeting, signing, and sketching, for people tomorrow at the Free Library of Philadelphia. The library will be opening special for us on Sunday from 1-4, where you can meet some of your favorite cartoonists and get some autographs or sketches. The Columbus Dispatch has a nice article on the “Artistically MAD: Seven Decades of Satire” exhibit that just got started at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum ten days ago. I’m definitely planning on making the trek to Ohio sometime this summer to see the show. The exhibit hangs through October 21st. READ MORE
