I read this CNN article yesterday which talks about the changing of a TV show’s direction of focus to try and “fix” it with respect to ratings and viewership. They talk about several shows that are getting that kind of makeover to try and salvage their ratings. In passing they mention that LOST has seen a dramtic drop in ratings since coming back on the air compared to last season and last fall’s ratings. Ghost Rider- The Movie

This weekend number one son Tommy and I extended Comic Book Day to become Comic Book Movie Day, as we caught a matinee of “Ghost Rider” starring Nicholas Cage and Eva Mendes. I am only barely familiar with the Ghost Rider character from the comics. I vaguely remember him to be a motorcycle stuntman named Johnny Blaze that was somehow cursed to become the Ghost Rider, a kind of Specter wannabe creature of vengeance. An art director’s job, as it pertains to illustrators, is to work with an artist to create an image or images for a project, be it to accompany an article in a magazine, illustrate a book, add visuals to an advertisement or a product packaging. I received the following e-mail from artist Ernie Kwiat: Every company I work for seems to have a different Work for Hire contract for me to sign. Since I usually am dealing with licensed characters and have no claim to their copyright or trademark, I usually just sign the contracts and hope to get my money.
