The interwebs will be bubbling with homages and eulogies for the late Apple frontman Steve Jobs today, most written by people will a lot more passion and insight about the man than I possess, so I won’t go on about it here. However, you can’t lose someone who has had this big of an impact on the world in general without saying something. The terms “visionary”, “creative genius”, “ahead-of-his-time” and “innovator” will be heard and read much in the coming days when describing Jobs. It would be difficult to name someone who has influenced the path of technology and the way in which millions of… READ MORE

Just a warning, though… once the book starts shipping I will probably raise the price of an Alfred sketch to $20 extra. This Friday will also be the last “sneak peek” of… READ MORE

Were they supportive of your chosen profession, try to talk you out of it, or somewhere in between? Also, how did the in-laws feel about having their daughter marry someone who aspired to become one of “the usual gang of idiots”? A: As a young kid my parents were very supportive of my desire to be an artist. My dad worked as a manager for a chain of grocery stores and would bring home reams of this computer track-paper that was used with old dot-matrix printers… READ MORE

Click for a closer look… This week’s sneak peek is the opening splash of Chapter Eight: Caricature in Illustration. This chapter is 10 pages long and contains 17 illustrations, all of which are examples… READ MORE
