Here’s a couple of great podcast links for your enjoyment: I Hear of Sherlock Everywhere with Scott Monty and Burt Wolder is “The podcast for those interested in the life and times of Mr. Sherlock Holmes – where it is always 1895”. It is fascinating to hear David’s thinking behind how he creates the many unique characterizations and their differences. They also plug the Sherlock Holmes pen I helped design, as well… READ MORE

Q: Taxes… Even though I have been a full time caricature artist for over 12 years, this is a major area that I have regretfully been lazy in researching and acquiring the proper knowledge base that I should probably have….¬¨‚Ć Like a lot of caricature artist I make the majority of my living as an independent contractor, I also do some freelance on the side but very little… I do not have a CPA and I am not incorporated, as a result I probably pay too much…. Got a fun surprise when I picked up a copy of Sergio Aragon?¬©s Funnies #7 at my local comic book shop: ©2012 Bongo Comics- used with permission ©2012 Bongo Comics- used with permission Hey, that’s me on the far right! I’ve been Sergio-ized in Sergio Aragon?¬©s Funnies! That is way cool. Sergio began issue #7 of his newest comic book title with a page about the MAD reunion in Savannah Georgia last fall that I was fortunate enough to attend and not be kicked out of just because I have only one decade of working for MAD under my belt and not five or so… READ MORE

This week’s SotW subject is The Walking Dead‘s Andrew Lincoln. I started watching this show this year after several friends recommended it, so it has the rare distinction of being the only show I actually watch on TV without having been assigned the parody for MAD. I am sure the creators of the show are thrilled about this honor 🙄 . I have been enjoying the show, which just wrapped it’s second season on Sunday. They have managed to avoid the obvious pittfalls of serials based on action/horrow/sci-fi premises wherein viewers get bored when there is too much talking and not enough stuff like zombies.… READ MORE
