Sketch o’the Week- Robin Wright!
Whoops, I was supposed to have posted this yesterday. Ah well… Here’s another actor from the series “House of Cards”, Robin Wright. I must say she plays a deliciously creepy and evil woman on this show. READ MORE

I just finished a big MAD parody job (can’t tell you what it is, so don’t ask) that had me tied in knots for the better part of two weeks, which means that today is catch-up day on all the stuff I had to ignore during my marathon. You know… stuff like bills, paperwork, emails… sleeping. One of the big things I have had to put on the back burner is signing, packing and shipping all those sketches and original art I put up for sale in the Studio Store in the last couple of weeks. My sincerest apologies for all those folks who bought… READ MORE
Okay not really a MAD piece…but related. I’ve done a few pieces for the Warner Bros consumer products line, and the above I did a year or two ago as a t-shirt illustration. I am sure I’ve shown this piece here before… but not these preliminary roughs!: READ MORE
I haven’t had to post this image in a long time, but I am fresh out of questions for the Sunday mailbag! Well, it’s not really completely empty, but the only ones I’ve got right now are either repeats of previous questions or of the “can you teach me how to cross-hatch?” or “how do you exaggerate people in caricature?” variety which aren’t really questions so much as they are requests for long and involved tutorials, and are needing a lot more time than I can give for this weekly feature. A good Sunday Mailbag question can certainly involve an image or two and a… READ MORE
Remember back in August some idiot started a rumor online that MAD Magazine legend Jack Davis had passed away? Well, not only is Jack happily still among the living, the guy is still doing work! The image above is his art for the cover of a new Sex Clark Five CD! I know what you are thinking… they still make CDs? Well they DO, smartass. According to the press release this is Jack’s first album cover art in 24 years, and back then they still made ALBUMS. It appears the people behind the band understand the significance of having Jack Davis do your album cover… READ MORE
I have been remiss in not promoting the wonderful SpringCon Comic Book “Celebration” taking place this year on May 17th and 18th in St. Paul, MN. I’ll be there, along with 250 comics creators, lots of dealers, panels and other fun stuff. For those who lament the comics conventions of today are much more about movies and other media than actual comics, this one has a truly classic feel like the cons of old. Plus, Minnesotans are so glad the %*&$^# winter is over by then that we are all unusually cheerful and fun to be around. This volunteer group has been putting on Minnesota… READ MORE
