I’m honored to be a special guest and The Lakes International Comic Art Festival in the Lakes District, Kendal, UK on October 13-15th, 2017. The guest list is gigantic and full of world class comics creators (and me). One of the biggest features of the event this year is the appearance of MAD legend Sergio Aragonés, who will be bestowing the newly minted National Cartoonists Society‘s “NCS Sergio Aragonés International Award for Excellence in Comic Art”. In attendence will be a number of NCS folks including former NCS presidents Steve McGarry and Rick Stromoski. This is the fifth annual “The Lakes International Comic Art Festival”,… READ MORE

Illustration Throwback Thursday #33

February 16th, 2017 | Posted in Illustration Throwback Thursday

The idea was to show someone doing (or about to do) that “bad luck” thing and the impending consequences. I’ll let you guess which superstitions each refer to… READ MORE

Sunday Mailbag- Parody Us?

February 12th, 2017 | Posted in Mailbag

Q: Has a director ever asked Mad Magazine to do a parody of their movie? Or have you guys only ever picked films to do parodies on of your own volition? A: Back in the day movie studios were rumored to have sent MAD press kits and other promotional stuff to try and get them to do a parody of their films, but no one has ever told me of a specific example. Knowing the people behind the magazine the way I do, any efforts of that kind from the movie studios were wasted. They spoof what they want to spoof. The choice as to… READ MORE
