The Lovely Anna and I will be at table 0-3 in Artists Alley this weekend at the 2017 C2E2 show! The convention runs tomorrow from 10-7, Saturday 10-7 and Sunday 10-5. I’ll have the usual pile of crap to sell including what’s left of my limited edition prints, signed copies of The Mad Art of Caricature, Sketch o’the Week Vol. 1 and Goodnight Batcave, comic con exclusive mini prints, signed copies of MAD and, of course, I’ll be doing caricatures, commissions and MAD sketch covers. MAD Art of Caricature- Korean Edition!

Two years ago this August I wrote about how a publisher in Korea purchased the Korean foreign language rights to my book The Mad Art of Caricature, and planned on publishing a Korean language edition of it. After having heard from some caricature artist friends in Korea that the book was in recently print, I finally got my three copies that were part of the original deal in the mail yesterday. The publisher took a lot of liberties with the placement of the art, and made some weird choices. Originally he started out more comic-bookish, and then we started working him toward a more cartoony and exaggerated form, loosely based on the “Batman- The Animated Series” look. Q: I draw caricatures at weddings all the time. Recently I was hired to draw at a wedding by the mother of the bride. She was a really nice lady and I had a great time drawing at the event, but I ran into a bit of a dilemma when it came time to draw her. Physically, her most defining feature was that she had no neck or jaw line. Her head looked like is had sort of melted onto her shoulders. Long Island City, NY: Aug 8-10 2017- Only 1 spot left!! SOLD OUT!! I’m surprised the Pittsburgh workshop is not doing so well, considering of all the places I said I was considering for a workshop that one got the biggest response. Plenty of places left there.
