The weekend’s caricature workshop here in Minnesota was a lot of fun. We had a really great group (as usual) and the time flew by. Many thanks to all who participated! Just a reminder, I have three workshops already scheduled for 2018 including L.A., Atlanta and Switzerland. They are filling up fast so if you want to reserve a place don’t delay too long. I am looking into possible workshops in Dallas, Las Vegas and Toronto as well.Keep an eye on my workshop page and posts here announcing new bookings. READ MORE

A nice hardcover with a dust jacket, the print job looks very good. The book will be released on Oct 17th in bookstores and via online booksellers like Amazon, and eventually I will have signed copies available in the Studio Store. READ MORE

MAD writer extraordinaire Des Devlin sent me this link to a story about how Condé Nast, publisher of a whole lot of stuff including The New Yorker, has been dropping the ball on one of the most successful commercial ventures in cartooning, The Cartoon Bank. The article is a great read since it provides a fascinating history of The Cartoon Bank and how it works, what it did to help hundreds of gag cartoonists to make a living, and how and why its current health has declined. Gag cartooning is one area of cartooning I have never done. I greatly admire the art form and… READ MORE

Here’s a look at another series of character sketches I did for a segment on the “MAD” animated show on Cartoon Network. This one was a spoof of teh Bravo network show “The Millionaire Matchmaker” featuring Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark. The animators used previous designs I’d done for Batman and Iron Man for those parts. The above image is the host of the TV show Patti Stanger, and the girl in the fish nets and the guy with the beard are two other personalities from the show. Video clip below. READ MORE
