New York is MAD No More

Last night was a tough night for a lot of the Usual Gang of Idiots. The MAD staff is just putting the finishing touches on issue #550, which goes to press next week. It will be the last issue of MAD produced in New York City, where MAD has been produced for over 65 years. Last night there was a “wrap” party of sorts for the staff and major contributors at the Society of Illustrators. Q: How much of your drawings are not planned? I mean, are there parts where you are thinking: “Hey, I didn’t plan to draw this line/look/composition like that, but it looks good. Z-People Sneak Peek

The Dreaded Deadline Demon

Illustration Throwback Thursday: The Coneheads!

I recently acquired copies of this four issue miniseries I did the pencils on for Marvel back in 1994… got them for a whopping 75 cents each (I over paid, I think). Can’t imagine where I lost my copies along the way. I wrote a blog post about the job some time back, but here is a look at the four covers and a few scans of some interior pages.
