Better late than never today… here’s my Rosario Dawson. Rosario has a really wide and square jaw for a woman. Males tend to have larger mandible bones and brow shelves with a more sloped forehead than females, although there are plenty of examples that break that “rule”. Rosario has an angular jaw and chin, with a wide mouth and full lips. She also has big and wide eyes, and a narrow nose bridge with heavy eyelids. Here lower lids budge out quite prominently. Here’s my Fred Rogers. I decided to add some of the figure because that’s so a part of his persona. This subject is challenging to caricature because he doesn’t have a very strong and identifiable expression that is associated with him. He is known for being very mild, calm, and even keeled. Having such a soft and understated “presence” give you nothing to exaggerate in terms of personality, so you are left with trying to capture that calm and mild look. Here’s my George Takei! George is WIIIIDE at the cheeks, and he has a very wide smile so that means most of his mass to the bottom of his head shape. As a result, you have to reduce the mass in the forehead. READ MORE

Here’s my sketch of Snoop Dogg… he’s got a great face to caricature. Snoop has a long, lean headshape but his eyes are very far apart… they almost seem to touch the outsides of his head. With a more serious expression he has sharp, high cheekbones, but when he does his wide stoner’s grin like this he has small, round “cherry tomato” cheeks that overpower the cheekbones. I needed to get this one done early today. Here’s my take on Edward Norton… at least a beat up one from the movie “Fight Club”. Edward has a lot of forehead, and a small, narrow mouth with a small, rounded chin. He also does not have a very distinct jawline. The corners of his mouth extend down to connect with his chin, and he has a kind of “chipmunk cheek” look with almost a double chin. READ MORE
