I wrapped up my Orlando workshop Sunday but I’m still here visiting with my youngest daughter The Effervescent Gabrielle for her birthday, so the rest of the week I’ll be posting the ‘warm up’ sketches the class and I did over the weekend. Q: Will you please do one of your caricature workshops in my area/backyard? A: I’m in Orlando right now, on the last day of teaching another of my caricature workshop. I just posted a new workshop location/dates for August in Detroit, MI yesterday. Whenever I post a new workshop, I invariably get the following: “Can you do one in Miami/Dallas/Brazil/my backyard?” I get this one a lot… so often I repost the answer now and then. Just announced! An August 7th-9th workshop in the Detroit MI area! There are already several spots taken by people on my mailing list, who get advanced notice of new workshops before I announce them here, so don’t wait around too long if you want a spot in this one! In fact, I only have a few spots available for any of my announced 2020 workshops. I’m sold out in Burbank and Las Vegas, have only one left in Chicago, two in Long Island City and three in Dublin! I received several emails from readers who were outraged about my post yesterday, where I showed a 5 year old piece of variant cover art I did for the DC title Batman/Superman reprinted as the cover of the Australian MAD Magazine (with modification to the art), without my knowledge or without renumeration. I guess they expected me to be outraged as well. Most were surprised that I was far from outraged. In fact I barely shrugged. Why? Three words: Work for Hire.
