This is the original inked art of page 6 of MAD‘s parody of the movies “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2” entitled “The Hunger Pains: Much Delay Parts 1 & 2” appearing in MAD #538, April 2016. The art features a caricatures of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Sam Claflin, Gwendoline Christie and others. Parody written by Desmond Devlin.

This page is also unique in that it contains the original “chicken fat’ sight gag that Tom included but was axed by the MAD editors at the last minute. In the last panel, Tom included a cameo of Buddy Ebsen as “Jed Clampett” as a gag related to the exploding rush of black goo the movie characters are running from. After initially okaying this gag, the editors decided after the final art was done that the “Beverly Hillbillies” reference would be lost on their readers, and Tom had to digitally change it to an Exxon sign. This original page contains the Buddy Ebsen cameo.
