Tremendous Tom Bunk!

Last weekend I was in Dallas TX hanging out with a bunch of fellow members of the Usual Gang of Idiots at the 3rd annual “MAD About Dallas” show. The very talented lineup was David DeGrand, Kit Lively, Scott Nickel, and the incomparable Tom Bunk.

I’d met Tom a few times at various MAD events, but never got a chance to spend any time with him. I’ve been a fan for a very long time, going back to his “Wacky Packages” and “Garbage Pail Kids” days. His work for MAD is ridiculously entertaining. It was great getting to chat and watch him draw for fans.

We exchanged drawings. I did a caricature of him, and he drew the gem seen above for me. I’m pretty sure I got the better end of that deal. That one is getting framed for my gallery! Thanks, Tom!
