Special Guest at Delhi Comic Con, India!

November 10th, 2016 | Posted in News

delhi_comic-conThis is crazy, but I am going to be a special guest at the Delhi Comic Con, New Delhi, India on December 9-11th. I’m being joined by fellow special guest Erik Larsen of Image Comics “Savage Dragon” (among lots of other things) fame for the three day event. I’m honored and humbled by the invitation… also I love curry.

I’ll be doing a presentation and participating in a few panels as well as signing stuff and meeting and greeting fans (I’m assured MAD magazine is well known in India… really??). I guess we’ll find out.

Comments

  1. Need to edit the text in the panel to read “illustrator” not “illustartor”.
Proofreading may be a blessing for some of us editors, but a curse as it has become an addiction.
    See you soon, Tom.

  2. Tim Johnson says:

There was actually an India(n) version of MAD Magazine. It lasted about 50 issues, and ceased publication around 2004. It was printed in English, and featured reprints from the US issues. The #1 issue has the Spice Girls on the front cover.

  3. Jack Myhervold says:

I suppose when you did your first work for MAD you could have been referred to as an “Ilustartor”. It would be cool to see a caricature of your visit there at some point. If you don’t, I’ll just walk around a Pier One store to imagine the experience.

    • Tom Richmond says:

Why a “Pier One” store? Do they have a lot of Indian furnishings and stuff?

      • Jack Myhervold says:

The newer Pier One might not have as much in the way of interesting international furnishings and decor as they did in their prime, unfortunately, but I recall the worldly items and the scents and overall atmosphere they were known for, to be as close as I am likely to get to a fascinating trip to any and all faraway lands, including India. It should be a great experience!.
