MAD #525 Sneak Peek: “The Following”

Zap2it.com just posted a sneak peek to the splash of MAD‘s parody of the TV series “The Following”, words by Arnie Kogen, art by me. They have close ups of the four quarters of the splash so you can read Arnie’s gags, so visit their post for a better look. Amazingly they were able to write several paragraphs about the parody without once mentioning me or Arnie as the creative team! 🙁
I’ll post the pencil roughs for this as my “sketch o’the week” a little later today.

Looking forward to the issue in the mail. Tom, was the site gag with the Stooge’s on the bulletin board your idea, or was it an editor or writer’s request?.
That was my gag.
Glad to see those Stooges pics again, and put to good comedic use in the parody.
I confess I actually did them for the parody, then got a weeks worth of cheap blog posts out if them.
AND THIS YEARS “INTEGRITY AWARD” GOES TO, …WAIT, ITS A TIE! BETWEEN CARTOONIST TOM RICHMOND, AND TORONTO MAYOR ROB FORD!!!!.
For anyone confused by the writing credit here, it’s because I’m using my secret pen name “Arnie Kogen.”
