Uh oh! Looks like the mailbag is empty!

When I get some fresh questions concerning cartooning, illustration, freelancing, MAD Magazine or other similar subjects I’ll be happy to answer them as best I can. E-mail me your questions and I’ll try and answer them here!

Hi, Tom. I’ve been reading your blogs about i-phone and i-pad apps. MAD has done all sorts of “TV shows we’d like to see.”, “Commercials we’d like to see.” etc. Have they ever done a spread on “APPS we’d like to see.”? I have a couple of suggestions: “The Stun Gun App”-for dealing with those school-yard bullies; and the “Road Rage Terminator App”…it would shut off that jerk’s electronic system, much like The KNIGHT RIDER does. I’m sure there are many more we’d like to see!

Hi Tom. For your Mad or freelance work, are you allowed to skip the inking stage and just color your penciled scans?
For example, you could use a blue pencil to rough out your sketch, then use your graphite pencil to draw over your final linework. After scanning into Photoshop, you can get rid of all the blue lines by selecting only the Blue Channel. Only your graphite lines will show.
    Would clients accept this?
