Those recently lamenting the lack of movie parodies in MAD can rejoice… not one but TWO parodies in this issue. Nothing by me in this issue… or the next sadly. The project I’m currently working on won’t be showing up in the magazine until #495 in October.

What are you waiting for? Go buy a copy, Clod!

Hahaha I love the Obama cover! NOW lets hear people say ‘MAD is a Liberal magazine’ Good news about the two movie parodies.

  2. tadbarney says:

Well yeah…I HAVE to buy anything that has something called “Planet TAD” in it, right?? Serg is such a sweet guy for honoring me that way. Or maybe I should see what it’s about first..

  3. matttyyyyluhuu says:

Great issue there Tom since I worked on it as one of the MAD interns but Caldwell isn’t in this issue Teresa Burns Parkhurst did When The Recession Hits Funeral Homes, can’t wait to see your stuff in October’s issue. Keep up the good work!

  4. Tom says:

WHOOPS! You’re right, Matt!! My apologies to Teresa… that’s what I get when I try to cut and paste people’s names and such from previous “On the Stands” posts. I get a little confused but what do you expect?? I wuz a liberal arts major!

Hey, did I meet you when I visited the MAD offices back in late June?? I think most of the staff was out to lunch when I stopped in. Uhhhhh… I mean literally “out to lunch” and not in the mental way, which we all know is a permanent state of mind for all MAD staffers.

  5. Mugshotz says:

That’s a great Obama cover! Perfect mix of the two of them. I really enjoyed the Indiana Jones parody. Well written and drawn really well. Can’t wait for the “Dork Knight” parody. Congrats on getting that.

  6. matttyyyyluhuu says:

No I think I was out to lunch when you visited. It would have been great to meet you, sorry about that. Sorry to point that out to you, I wasn’t trying to be a pain or a guy that only looks for mistakes. I love the blog and your artwork, it’s really helped me in a lot of ways with my stuff.

  7. Tom says:

No worries, Matt. I’d be livid if I found out much later I make a mistake like that and it did not get corrected. Feel free to check my “On the Stands” posts for accuracy all you like!

Sorry I did’;t get to meet you when I was visiting the MAD offices, and thanks for the kind words.
