This is it, the final segment of the demo video of some of my live caricature samples from the early 90’s. For those just tuning it, this was a time-lapse, looping demo of me doing a bunch of samples that played through a window in several of my indoor caricature stand locations.

It’s interesting to see the difference in my work when you compare this example with one I did last year:

As long as we are talking a lot this week about theme park caricatures, display samples, etc., here are three new samples I drew and painted while working at Valleyfair last week. Frequent readers of The MAD Blog will recognize these as past drawings from the “Sketch o’the Week”:

Once again, late but better than not at all.

This is a sketch for a possible park sample of the late Michael Jackson. I decided to do one based on his look at a time when he wasn’t a punchline and was still more famous for his music than for his bizarre, and possibly criminal, behavior.

…from an old sketchbook. I thought it might be timely. Say what you want about Michael Jackson, but he was definitley two things: One of the most popular and influential recording artists in the history of American pop music, and the poster child for what money and fame can do to a person without a solid childhood upbringing as a foundation.
