For those interested in sending anything to Mort, the folks at MAD are very good about forwarding fan mail to their artists, and I guarantee it will be put in a larger envelope and mailed directly to him within days. I get letters like that every once and awhile. Send it addressed to:

Mort Drucker (or any MAD artist/writer you wish to reach)
c/o MAD Magazine
1700 Broadway 7th Floor
New York, NY 10019

Be assured your letter will reach Mort or any MAD contributor it is addressed to.

Hi Tom,
I enjoyed your story so much that I want to send Mort a letter of gratitude for his influence in my life as an artisan. I started out in the 60's wanting to be a caricaturist, like Mort, but ended up as a retouch artist, the opposite of what he did.
Do you mind forwarding my note to him? I don't need to know his e-mail and if you so kindly oblige, going through you would be perfect.

If the answer is yes, please e-mail me and I will send you the letter of gratitude and that would be that.

To surprise him a little, I made a rendering of him that I think you would enjoy seeing.

Thanks for your story. My wife hopes you gave your wife a big kiss for that 10th anniversary present.

Congratulations on your working at Mad.
You have a lot to live up to there, and it sounds like you are making the most of it.
Sincerely,
Phil Edwards
