Monday MADness- Goodnight Batcave Roughs!

Here’s a peek at some of the preliminary sketches I did to work out how we were going to handle the look of Batman for Goodnight Batcave. Originally he started out more comic-bookish, and then we started working him toward a more cartoony and exaggerated form, loosely based on the “Batman- The Animated Series” look. His chin got even bigger and his upper body more exaggerated in the final roughs:
