Small Sneak Peek: Ho-Hum Land

Clicky to Embiggen…

MTV Geek posted a sneak peek of the splash page to MAD‘s parody of “Homeland”, words by David Shayne, art by me. I’ll be able to post more of a peek at the rest of the parody once the issue’s release date gets closer.

Sharped-witted MAD fans (BTW, that phrase appears in the Oxford English dictionary as the definition of “oxymoron”) might have noticed that despite the fact that MAD is published bi-monthly, issue #523 is coming out only one month after July’s #522 hit the stands. This is because the June release of the Superman Special delayed #522 (which should have been released in June), and this issue puts the MAD publishing schedule back on track. At least, that’s my best guess.

This piece of mine in MAD also has a special significance for me… it represents the 100th issue my work has appeared in.

Congrats on the 100th issue! And love your Morena Baccarin. Also, I love Morena Baccarin. So there’s that.

  2. Thanks Mr. Slaubaugh says:

You are clearly Mr. Odometer for 2013. Well, you and Rick Tulka, who hit 100 earlier this year.

If they all appear in #523:

Teresa Burns Parkhurst: 2 away from 50
David Shayne: 2 away from 50
Scott Bricher: 7 away from 100
Hermann Mejia: 9 away from 150
Tom Bunk: 7 away from 150
Desmond Devlin: 8 away from 200
Sergio Aragones: 3 away from 450
