MAD continues it’s “MAD’s Greatest Artists” book series with the incomparable Mort Drucker. This hardcover beauty will be available Oct. 23rd, and can be preordered now on Amazon.

I got a chance to see a mock-up bound copy of this book when I visited the MAD offices back in June. Obviously it’s not a “complete” collection of Mort’s MAD work . . . having been in over 400 issues that would need many volumes. This is a selection of Mort’s best work, picked by someone who ought to know- Mort himself. There is also a great pull out color poster.

This book celebrates the work of one of the most beloved and influential cartoonists of the last half-century. I’ve got my order in!

Thanks for the quick Amazon link Tom. I just ordered the Mort Drucker book as well as the Mad 60 years book. For those that don’t already have your “The Mad Art of Caricature” book, that is offered as well. When I was in Jr. high, I used a balopticon projector to make a poster size image of Sean Connery as James Bond that Mort had done. I have a vague memory of it being part of a parody where Bond makes a cameo appearance, but I can’t recall what the parody was. Maybe you would have some idea. I enjoy your multiple Bond poster up on my wall, and I hope to see more groupings of characters that might include:, Various Sherlock Holmes, – The four Marx brothers (including Zeppo), -The Three Stoogies, – Laurel and Hardy, etc.
