Spy Games

MAD‘s very own Spy vs. Spy debuted recently in the App Store for Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iTouch. It’s been wildly successful and as been on-and-off the number one game in the app store, much to the chagrin of Perry. It’s an update of the original game that was made for the Commodore 64, Apple II and Atari.

I remember having that game for the Atari, circa 1984 or so. This one is designed for the awesome retina screen of the Apple devices, but also includes an 8-bit “retro mode” so you can go back in time and enjoy the wonderfully clunky, boxy squares of a time when video games were… uh… clunky and boxy.

The makes of the game were so overjoyed at reaching number one (anything MAD related is typically used to being referred to as “number 2”), they made the recent sale price of 99 cents permanent, so it’s not only a cool game it’s…

…wait for it….

…99 cents (CHEAP).

Download from the Apple App Store!

Ahhhhh!!!!! When is it coming out for Android???? (dangit!)

I played Spy Vs Spy on Atari first, and managed to get a copy for my long-gone Sega Genesis. Those were the days.

Glad to see it’s back (and love your blog even though I’m not an artist!)
