Breaking MAD

June 7th, 2012 | Posted in MAD Magazine

I’m still getting used to MAD‘s new approach to announcing what’s coming in the magazine. They used to be very adamant about not leaking what is coming in the next issue until it hits the stands. These days they have all sorts of exclusive previews and sneak peeks on the interwebs . . . of course these are all coming directly from them, so it’s not really a “leak”. The above is from their official blog, The Idiotical. I drew this one (the parody in the magazine, not this Photoshopped promo), and will post some art from it once the issue starts appearing in mailboxes, etc.

Breaking Bad satire?? YAAAAY! Best show, cannot wait to see this. Hey with the satires of big drama serials, do you watch the whole series so far or just the most recent season? The cast and locations change a bit over the course of the four seasons.

    • Tom says:

The short answer is I try and watch as much of the entire series as possible. Actually this would make an excellent longer blog post in the future, so thanks for the idea and look for that right after I post the sneak peeks of the Breaking Bad parody probably sometime next week.

Oh awesome! Because I notice with some of the parodies of serial shows (Mad Men, Walking Dead, Dexter etc), MAD makes fun of the story arcs from the most recent season rather than making up a new plot.

This is the best pairing ever, my favourite artist with my favourite TV show. I can’t wait to see this one!
