I promised to let everybody know where they can order one of the sculpted Sherlock Holmes pens that were created based on an illustration of Holmes that I did for voice artist extraordinaire David Ian Davies as “cover art” for his complete collection of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Holmes “Canon” audiobooks. Well the pen is finally available and you can order it at David’s website directly from this page. Unfortunately for some odd reason the page does not open correctly when using a Mac, either with Safari or Firefox (at least not for me), so you’ll need to use a Windows PC browser if you want to get one of these pens. They sell for $12.95 plus shipping and come gift boxed.
While you are at it, if you have any interest in Conan Doyle’s Holmes stories, you cannot do better than David’s audiobooks. He does all the voices and it sounds like a full company of actors, each with a distinctive personality and voice. Amazing. His Dr. Watson is particularly fantastic. Check them out on Audible.com.

I have a PC and tried ordering the pen. I had no problem opening the page to order, but was unable to click the “Buy from Payquake” button. I emailed David at the site and he quickly assured me if we can hang in a couple of more days the site will be functional for sale of pens. Patience folks, we’ll get them soon enough!
I have to apologize to everybody. I thought I was told that everything was a go on that pen order page. I could not test it myself being on a Mac. Hopefully whoever is doing the web site work for David will get this straightened out ASAP.
There is a way to view page on a Mac – If you have OS X 10.5.xx (Leopard) and are using Safari. Go to the Safari “Preferences” panel, then select the “Advanced” icon. At the bottom of the preference pane, check the box that reads “Show Develop Menu in menu bar”. Once that has been checked, you’ll notice that in the Menu Bar at the top of your screen, a new menu selection has appeared – “Develop” Select “Develop” > scroll down to second item, “User Agent” there are several web browser selections to choose from > select Internet Explorer 6.0 or 7.0 and your Safari browser will “emulate” Internet Explorer. It works on about 98% of all “Internet Explorer Only” websites. Happy surfing.
Leverenz- Thanks for that tip. It did not work for me, however. I don’t know why.
Just an update- apparently due to some difficulties with the web interface the pens are not able to be ordered at this time. They are working to resolve the issue and I will announce when the ordering page is up and running.
Geez, Tom … these videos are TERRIFIC!!! Now I’m dying because I didn’t go to San Diego this year. Thank you so much for putting this up. These guys are great! I love hearing the stories of MAD in those crazy early days.
