On Our Way to the Big Easy

The 2008 Reubens in New Orleans!

The Lovely Anna and I are on our way to New Orleans today for the 62nd Annual National Cartoonist Society’s Reuben Awards.

As always, the weekend is full of activities, seminars, events and other cartooning goodness. It can get a little wild at times, but that’s to be expected considering that the nature of professional cartooning is one of mainly solitude in our lonely little studios… when we get a chance to get together we make the most out of it.

…oh, and as usual I’ll be working on a job when I’m there as well. Bleech.

Look for daily reports here on The MAD Blog on the weekend’s events, including a special Sunday report with a complete list of all the winners of the divisions as well as the “Cartoonist of the Year”. Here’s a complete list of all the nominees, some info on past Reuben winners and this year’s nominees for the big award, and some info on this year’s guest speakers.

    Best of luck, Tom.

  2. […] Magazine cartoonist Tom Richmond has mentioned on his blog that he’ll be posting Reuben related news throughout the weekend, and I’m sure Mike Lynch will as well. If I see any others – I’ll link to them as […]
