Mark Evanier’s “News From Me”

July 1st, 2006 | Posted in General

I mentioned a few days ago here that I have resisted blogging for a long time. There were several reasons for this, the chief of which was I didn’t want to do it just to have a place to toot my own horn or post my latest scribble looking for feedback. One of the biggest reasons I chose to give blogging a try was because of a blog that I frequent a lot called “News from Me

The author’s name is Mark Evanier, and he’s a tremendously talented and funny writer who’s credits are far too long to list here. He’s written for televison, comics, books and who knows what else. He and MAD artist Sergio Aragones have collaborated on “Groo” for a long time, just to give you and example of his list of accomplishments. He also is the author of MAD Art, a terrific book about the art and artists of MAD, which I am lucky enough to be mentioned in.

Mark’s blog demonstrates how well this kind of format can work. I am trying to use his efforts as an example and template for creating a blog people will be interested in visiting often. I never miss a day checking out Mark’s blog. I’m hoping to write some things of interest here like Mark does, and I hope those who visit will find reason to come back.

If you have any interest in comics, cartoons, animation, entertainment or just plain old good and engaging writing, do yourself a favor and check out Mark’s News from Me.
